Mary T. (Caruso) McBride, longtime resident of Melrose, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.She was 92.
Born on March 2, 1928 in Dorchester, Mary is one of 14 Children of the late Peter and Christina (Abundo) Caruso.She grew up in Dorchester, graduating from Dorchester High School for Girls.She met and later married her beloved John L. McBride, and they settled in Melrose in 1964.
Mary worked at John Hancock Insurance for nine years, Converse for two years, and American Mutual for seventeen years until her retirement.
Family and friends were most important to Mary.She enjoyed bowling, dancing, playing the lottery, and volunteering at the senior center and Red Cross in Dorchester.She looked forward to attending community dinners every Tuesday at the senior center.
Mary's love, warmth, and kindness will be deeply missed.
Mary was the beloved wife of the late John L. McBride with whom she shared 54 years of marriage.Devoted mother of Karen Carpenter and her husband Larry of Attleboro, John McBride and his wife Robin of Alfred, ME, Marianne Ballerini and her husband Thomas of Auburn, NH, Brenda Hansen-Fortune and her husband Jeff of Bedford, NH, and the late Joanne McBride.Her thirteen siblings predecease her.She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
Due to the health crisis, all services will be private.Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Boston.
