Mel was born July 21, 1924 in Melrose, son of the late Dr. Melvin S. McLeod, Sr. and Della (Bacon) McLeod.
Mel was raised in Melrose and attended Melrose High School and graduated from the New Hampton Prep School in New Hampton, NH Class of 1943.He went on to Cornell University where he graduated in 1949.He worked for Payne Elevator Company in Cambridge from 1950 until 1970 retiring as an Executive Assistant to the President. Mel was a member of the Wyoming Lodge AF&AM of Melrose, a former Trustee at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital and a member of the First Congregational Church.
Mel shared 56 years of marriage with his late wife Elizabeth (Eaton) McLeod.He was the father of Scott E. McLeod and his wife Joan of Lynnfield, Catherine A. McLeod of Lynnfield and Elizabeth M. LeBoeuf of Ipswich.Brother of the late Norman L. McLeod. Grandfather of Heather McLeod, Courtney Ciccio and Davide Ciccio all of Lynnfield and Marette E. LeBoeuf and Melanie C. LeBoeuf both of Ipswich.
