Mrs. Muriel May (Thompson) Cook of Saugus, formerly of Melrose, died Thursday May 27, 2004 after a brief illness at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
May Cook was born July 4, 1918 in Chelsea, daughter of the late John W. Thompson and Muriel (Sylvester) Thompson and the step daughter of the late Frank Feehan.
Mrs. Cook had lived in Melrose for many years before moving to Saugus two years ago. She was a graduate of Medford High School.
May worked for the City of Melrose as a clerk in the City Clerks Office for over 14 years until retiring in 1991.
She was a member of the Melrose Women's Club and was a communicant at Blessed Sacrament Church, Saugus.
Muriel May Cook was wife of the late Francis A. Cook.Mother of Elizabeth M. "Betty" Cook of Meredith, NH, Arthur P. Cook, Ret. Lt. Saugus P.D. of Malden and John F. Cook of Center Harbor, NH. Also survived by 7 grandchildren.
