Mrs. B. Natalie (Harson) Urban, a longtime resident of Melrose, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, September 19, 2012 at EPOCH Senior Healthcare of Melrose.She had just celebrated her 99th birthday.

Born on September 9, 1913 in Providence, RI, she was one of five daughters of the late Chester A. Harson and Bertha W. (Hanrahan) Harson.Mrs. Urban worked for Lam Lighting Systems in Wakefield for 20 years as a sales coordinator.She and her late husband lived in Melrose for many years, where they raised their 5 children.She was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church for many years and loved square dancing with her husband.

Mrs. Urban was actively involved with many community activities in Melrose throughout her life.She served as the President of the Melrose PTA, League of Women's Voters, Women's Auxiliary at the YMCA, and Community Associates of Melrose.She also served on the Melrose School Committee from 1955 to 1965, on the Board for the Friends of Melrose Public Library and served as Treasurer and Board member of the Melrose Chamber of Commerce.

She was the beloved wife of the late Stephen E. Urban.Devoted mother of Stephen E. Urban, Jr. of North Fort Myers, FL, Edmund A. Urban and his wife Valarie of Fleming Island, FL, Lawrence D. Urban of Dallas, TX, Natalie W. "Lee" Kornfeld and her husband Nicholas of Brooklyn, NY, and James A. Urban and his wife Donna of Melrose.Former mother-in-law of Ann C. Pratter of Ayer. Dear sister of Beverly Ann Sheehan of Wakefield, RI, and the late Elizabeth Foran, Alice Sheehan, and Constance Hayes.Cherished grandmother of Stephen M. Urban, Lawrence H. Urban, Edmund K. Urban, Stesha B. Urban, Nicholas S. Kornfeld, Jeremiah J. Kornfeld, James R. Urban, Robert L. Urban, and Tina N. Urban.Loving great-grandmother of Devin, Dylan, Justin, Kyle, Sarah Rose, and Katherine Ann.Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends will honor and remember Natalie's life by gathering for visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Sunday, September 23 from 2-6 PM and again on Monday morning at 8:00 AM before leaving in procession to St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 AM.Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
