Mr. Wood was born in Malden, July 25, 1932, son of the late John Wood and Mary (Dwyer) Wood.
Nelson was raised and educated in Malden and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Nelson was the husband of Barbara E. (O'Brien) Wood. Father of Michael A. Wood and his wife, Nancy of Newton, Mark E. Wood and his wife, Cyndi of Southborough, Elise R. Lovely and her husband Mark of Framingham, Sara Beth Wood and Deirdre J. Osborne and her husband Malcolm, all of Ashland. Brother of Jack Wood and his wife, Freda of Winthrop, Edwin Wood and his wife, Carol of Malden, Irene Wood of Melrose, Oleda Dady and her husband, Charles of Reading, Frances Mitchell of Merrimack, NH and the late Bernard, Raymond and Vincent Wood. Also survived by 16 grandchildren.
