Nicholas A. Ansaldi
Nick was born at home on May 2, 1930, a son of the late Ignazio and Chrocifissa (Armata) Ansaldi.He was raised on Commercial Street in the North End one of eight children and graduated from High School of Commerce.Mr. Ansaldi worked for many years at the Hood Rubber Company in Watertown and later at the Massachusetts State House Library. He was a longtime resident of East Boston before moving to Wakefield to be closer to his family.
Nick had simple needs in life. He worked hard, loved his family, and was devoted to his Catholic faith. He wasa music lover, especially anything Italian, Big Band or Marching Band. He taught himself to play the guitar and stand up bass, and relaxed listening with Frank Sinatra of Patsy Cline in the background. Most of all, his family was most important and cherished anytime spent with his son, siblings and grandchildren.
Nick was the devoted father of Nicholas A. Ansaldi, Jr. & his wife Meg of Wakefield. Caring brother of Josephine Ansaldi of E. Boston, Joseph Ansaldi of Woburn, Anthony Ansaldi of Medford, & the late Frances D'Angelo, Nina Ansaldi, Catherine Ciccarello, & Stephen Ansaldi. Loving grandfather of Gina & Melissa Ansaldi.
Relatives & friends will gather in honor of Nick's life for visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Wednesday, March 9 from 4-8pm, and again on Thursday at 9am before leaving in procession to Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield for his Funeral Mass at 10am. Gifts may be made to Greenwood Nursing & Rehab. Center, 90 Greenwood St., Wakefield MA 01880.
