Otto M. "Bud" Gabriel, 90 a life long resident of Melrose died Friday morning February 4, 2005 at Elmhurst Nursing Home in Melrose. Bud was born in Malden October 26, 1914, son of the late Paul J. Gabriel and Bertha (Gerade) Gabriel. Bud graduated from Melrose High School and Bentley College.He was an Office Manager before WWII with Packard Motor Car Company for 5 years. He served in the US Army during WWII. After the war Bud was a Controller for 14 years with the Cadillac Automobile Company in Boston.He also worked with the Reynolds and Reynolds Company of Dayton, Ohio, retiring in 1979 after 19 years of service.Bud was a member of Wyoming Lodge, Melrose and loved to golf. He was the husband of the late Margaret "Peg" (Semple) Gabriel and the uncle of Robert Gabriel of Vero Beach, FL.,Rita McQuade of FtMyers, FL, Norma Graham and Marlene Wye both of Millis, Gerald Gabriel of Hadley, Laurie Gabriel of SouthNatick, Lisa Lane of Townsend,Barbara Coish of Windham, NH, Susan Malfatti of Melbourne, FL.,Bette Jamerino of Claire, MI andSally Bouthillier of Duxbury.He is also survived by several godchildren.
Funeral Service at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., MELROSE Wednesday Feb. 9 at 12 Noon. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 10-12 Noon.
Interment will be in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge. Gifts in his memory may be made to Special Olympics, 150 Maple St., Danvers, MA01923.
