Oyeyebi 'Margaret' Molokwu

God cannot be everywhere. so he created mothers! No truer words accurately describe the person so many of us knew and loved.

Princess Oyeyebi 'Margaret' Molokwu affectionately known as (Iya Dike, Mama Dike, Iya Ibo, Iya Adura, Mommy Boston) to mention a few, was born in Lagos, Nigeria on July 14, 1944, the 2nd daughter of the late Pa Samuel Oyetola Akanni of Eesa Offa and Ganho Badagry descent and Mama Regina Sonate Oyediran nee Sojinu of Whekomeh, Badagry descent.

She began her early education at Our Lady of Apostles primary/secondary school and earned certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was an active member of Christian Ladies Friendly Society @ Folawiyo Bankole Memorial Methodist church in Lagos, Nigeria.

She loved to travel. She was also a fashion designer and seamstress with a most memorable note that she designed and made the dresses for Miriam Makeba's famous FESTAC 77 performances in Lagos, Nigeria.

She first migrated to the United Kingdom where she lived for 15 years and then on to the United States in April of 1998. While here in the States, she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and was passionate about caring for others.

Cooking and feeding her family and friends was Margaret's visible gesture and sign of love. She was a magnificent and generous cook with something always ready to offer anyone who came to her home. Her Christian faith was central to her throughout her life. She believed nothing was impossible with God. She was an active member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Melrose, Massachusetts, where she served as an elder and was active in both the Women's Group and Wisdom Group. She was a much loved and respected church member and church mother.

Aside from her biological children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, she has amassed an uncountable number of additional children, grandchildren and great grandchildren whom were all actively present in her life until the very end.

A true friend to many and mother to the community, her sunset, on Friday, November 12, 2021, was shocking for us all, but we know she fought a good fight and finished her course. She kept her Christian faith to the end. We will miss her smile, laughter, encouragement, wisdom, and love tremendously.

In addition to her late husband, Dr. Louis D. Molokwu she was pre-deceased by their son, Louis 'Junior' Molokwu and her brother, Mr. Oye Oyediran. She leaves behind her children, William 'Dike' Molokwu of Taunton, MA; Obi G. Molokwu (wife Althea) of New Britain, CT; Richard N. Molokwu (wife Ann-Marie) of Malden, MA and Belinda O. Okereke (husband Nnamdi) of Lagos, Nigeria; her grandchildren, William Jr., Ashely, Alicia (husband Charles Hill), Alexis, Aliyah and Alexander, Ariana, Patrick, Adrian, Olivia and Jilian; her great-grandchildren, Magnus and Adeline; two sisters Mrs. Oyebola M.
