Mr. Pat "Butchie" Corvino, Jr., of Middleton and a longtime resident of Melrose, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday evening May 23, 2011 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.He was 70.
BornPasquale Corvino Jr. on September 3, 1940 in Everett, he was one of nine children of the late Pasquale Corvino and Rose (Ferrante) Corvino.
Pat or "Butchie" as he was well known was raised and educated in Everett.He was a dedicated Firefighter for the City of Melrose for over 20 years.He later owned and operatedP. Corvino Trucking of Melrose for many years.
Butchie loved the City of Melrose and enjoyed many of the relationships he made over the years.He was a longtime member of the Bellevue Golf Club and the North Shore Old Car Club. He treasured his collection of antique cars.He enjoyed visiting Cape Cod during the summer and going to Naples, FL in the winter. Above all else, Butchie loved his family.He was a great friend to Cathy, a wonderful father of four children, and cherished his grandchildren.

Corvino of Medford.Dear brother of Marie Fonzi and her husband Ricci of Georgetown, Nancy Ingemi and her husband Joseph of Saugus, Patti Gianatassio and her husband Joseph of Malden, Angela Sohn and her husband Gerald of Winchesterand Joan Zollo of Windham, NH. Pat was predeceased by his three brothers, Francis Corvino, Nicholas Corvino and Robert Corvino.Dear brother-in-law of Delanne Corvino of N. Reading. Also survived by Karen Barnes and her husband Bobby of Ipswich, Eddie Kelley and his wife Gina of Boxford, and Courtney Wetzel and her husband Todd of Northborough.Cherished grandfather of Gianna Rose, Ella Lucia, Zachary, Anna, Owen, Charlie, Andrew, Daniel, Max, and Emma. Also survived by Marie Corvino of Melrose and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St, Melrose on Saturday at 9:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in Pat's honor at the Church of the Incarnation, Upham St., Melrose at 10:00 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours on Friday from 4:00-8:00 PM.Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.Retired Firefighter for the City of Melrose.
