Paul Kevin Baker, a larger-than-life personality and dedicated family man, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Lawrence General Hospital, at age 57.
Paul Baker was born in Boston on January 31, 1967, son of the late Carmine M. Cafasso and Claire F. (Sheedy) Cafasso. Raised in Stoneham, Paul graduated from Stoneham High School and UMASS Amherst, Class of 1987. He received his Juris Doctor from Massachusetts School of Law in 1995, realizing his potential as an Attorney who thrived in representing the underdog. Known commonly as a personal injury attorney, Paul was more than that – his passion was helping make a difference in others lives. He gained experience at Blumenthal Associates and Sheff Law before establishing Baker Law Office in Boston in 2012.
A natural born leader, Paul possessed the innate ability to bring people together with laughter, common passions and his gregarious charm. He found his greatest joy at the birth of his two sons and relished in the lives of his two boys as their Dad, Coach, friend, and confidante. He was at his purest and most alive when watching his sons perform on athletic fields as their biggest (and loudest) fan.
When not working or cheering on his sons, Paul found time to enjoy skiing with friends, playing a round of golf, or visiting the beach with family. With a true passion for music, Paul enjoyed many classic rock concerts with wife Virgianne, and just last Friday saw Neil Young perform live.
Always reliable, Paul was the rock, inspiration and super glue that bound family together. His dedication and care for others connected across states and generations, serving as a role model for others to emulate. Funny, caring, smart, and passionate, Paul’s life was marked by his ability to weave his gifts together enriching those around him. He will be deeply and sorely missed, but his booming and constant voice will forever echo in the minds of his family and inspire them to live fully, as he did. May he rest in eternal peace.
Paul was the husband of Virgianne M. (Janeczek) Baker. Devoted father of Paul Baker and Michael Baker, both of Boxford. Dear brother of Jay Baker of Reading, Kerry Geddis of Boxford and her son Jackson, and the late Claire A. Baker.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to gather in honor and remembrance of Paul’s life during Visiting Hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St, Melrose, on Thursday, May 23 from 4-8pm, and for his Funeral Service at the Melrose Church of the Nazarene, 2 Short St., Melrose on Friday, May 24 at 10am.
