Paul E. Ballard a 48 year resident of Melrose died Sunday morning February 8, 2009 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following a period of declining health. He was 78 years old.
Paul was born on September 11, 1930 in Lynn, MA one of two children of the late Everett L. Ballard and Virginia (Venette) Ballard.
Paul was raised in Saugus and graduated from Saugus High School. He was a ToolDesigner at General Electric Company (Riverworks) in Lynn and retired after 43 years. He was a proud member of the NRA and the Reading Rifle and Revolver Club.Paul was a family man, loved nature,peaceful rides on back roads with his motorcycle and watching the Red Sox.
Paulwas the beloved husband of Peggy (Hall) Ballard with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. He was the loving father of Thomas P. Ballard and his wife Sherre of Glendale, AZ, Blanche Tarantino and her husband Steven of Hopkinton, Christopher E. Ballard and his wife Lisa of Merrimack, NH and Linda Dustin and her husband Mark of Melrose.Dear brother of the late Patricia Annis.Cherished grandfather of Amanda Ballard, Christine Tarantino, Julie Tarantino, Ryan Ballard and Marissa Ballard.Cherished godfather and uncle to Sandra Carriero of Melrose and several nieces and nephews.Special long time friend of Joan Terry of Melrose.
