Paul R. Crowley
Paul was born on November 21, 1964 in Malden, the second of four sons of the late Robert M. Crowley and Theresa M. (Boyes) Crowley. Raised in Melrose, Paul played baseball at Melrose High School where he graduated with the Class of 1982. After high school, he was married to Patricia Forbes, of Malden and they settled in Everett and later Tewksbury to raise a family of four children. Paul received his CDL Certificate and enjoyed working for the MBTA as a Bus Driver in the Melrose area. Later, he worked for A. Fierro Produce Company.
A lifelong athlete, Paul loved sports. For many years, he played "over 30" OTB baseball for the Braves and then the Cardinals. He enjoyed refereeing hockey for many years, and was a talented golfer. A dedicated and loving father, he cherished time with his four children while coaching their baseball, softball and hockey teams.
With a longtime family connection to racing, Paul also spent many days at the NH and CT Motor Speedways. Along with his father and brothers, he loved going to the races, and found joy in the thrill of the sport.
A family man to the core, Paul was incredibly devoted to his children and grandchildren. He was a constant presence, and source of loving support for his children, and loved being a grandfather. He never missed a sporting event for his grandchildren, and every Christmas, was the first to arrive to catch the smiles on his grandchildren's faces. Sarcastic and dry, Paul never took anything too seriously and was always armed with a joke. He will be deeply and sorely missed, but his love and devotion to his family will carry on as his legacy.
Paul was the devoted and dedicated father of Elizabeth A. Gallagher and her late husband Kenneth of Lowell, Matthew P. Crowley and his girlfriend Hillary of Nashua, NH, Patrick F. Crowley and his fiancé Alison of Manchester, NH, and Philip R. Crowley of Nashua, NH. Cherished grandfather of Christopher, Natalie, Evelyn, Mason, and Layla. Beloved brother of Mark Crowley of NH, Kevin Crowley of Billerica, and Brian Crowley of Monson, CT. Longtime partner of Lisa Sgro, Paul is also survived by Lisa's daughter Lillian Sgro and her son Julian. Former husband of Patricia Crowley Jordan of TN. Loving nephew of Linda and Paul Svetz Lincoln. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
Out of respect for public health, services to honor Paul's life will be held privately. Interment at Glenwood Cemetery, Everett.
