Paula M. (Walsh) Tringali
Paula was born in Revere on January 30, 1949, one of four children of the late Arthur L. Walsh and Pauline M. (Shea) Walsh. She was raised in Revere and Saugus where she graduated from Saugus High School.She was married on June 6, 1970 and lived in Winthrop for several years before moving to Melrose in 1980 with her family.
Paula went to beauty school to become a licensed esthetician and cosmetologist. She loved her job working in several beauty salons in the local area. Paula took great pride in her appearance always looking her best, and happily shared this gift with her friends and clients. She was also a natural caretaker, learning from a young age when she helped raise her younger brother. Her children remember her innate sense to nurse them back to health as only a mother can do.Years later, she moved in with her elderly parents to provide her loving care in their home.
Paula was smart, outspoken, and funny. She loved singing in the car, and was a voracious reader of crime and mystery novels. She had a knack for interior decorating, and was an expert seamstress. Later in life, she found her greatest joy in being a dog owner, her first dog Shea and most recently Lily. She brought her pets into her life and made them part of the family.
An excellent cook, Paula loved eating and preparing food for the family, and passed this love onto her children. She loved hosting Sunday dinners with great Italian specialties like stuffed peppers, spaghetti and meat sauce, and lots of salads.
Paula was most at ease and happy when relaxing at the beach. Having lived in Point of Pines in Revere and Winthrop, the North Shore beaches were her home, and she felt blessed to be able to share them with her family. She will be lovingly remembered and they will carry her with them in their hearts.
Paula was the devoted mother of Melanie J. Tringali of Somerville, and Matthew V. Tringali and his fiancé Lisa of Melrose.Caring sister of the late Peter, Gregory, and Arthur Walsh. Former wife of Peter S. Tringali of Melrose. Loving grandmother of Zachary T. Tringali of Melrose. Dear cousin of Cissy Esler of Nahant, and Joyce Trapasso of Swampscott. Also survived by several other cousins, and a niece Randy L. Walsh of TX.
Relatives and friends will gather in honor of Paula's life for her Funeral Service at the First Baptist Church, 561 Main St., Melrose celebrated on Monday, August 10 at 10AM. Interment in Riverside Cemetery, Saugus.
