Mrs. Paulette J. "PJ" (Leone) Lang, a resident of Wakefield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, at age 61.
Paulette was born in Boston on June 8, 1952, one of four daughters of the late Paul J. and Elizabeth E. (Paris) Leone.She was raised in Somerville and graduated from Somerville High School, Class of 1970.On her 23rd birthday, she married the love of her life William B. Lang and they settled in Wakefield.She worked as an administrative assistant for many years with John Hancock Insurance Co. and later for Stride Rite Shoe Co. in Cambridge.
Paulette was lovingly known by all as "PJ."She loved her family and especially cherished her relationships with her many nieces and nephews.Always generous, she loved giving them gifts and making them quilts.She was a member of the Green Street Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.
PJ also loved cats, and Elvis.She recently had 3 cats, Ebony, Sarah and Samuel and was such a fan of Elvis that she and Bill celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows in Las Vegas at the Elvis Chapel.
A creative person, PJ loved ceramics, sewing, making photo albums, painting, and quilting.
PJ will be lovingly remembered as the beloved wife of William B. Lang with whom she shared 38 years of marriage. Devoted sister of Susan E. Perkins and her husband Edward C. of Newbury, Judith A. Wamboldt and her husband George D. of Somerville, and Rebecca M. Duarte and her husband Luis F. of Fall River.Cherished aunt of Paul E. Perkins of Newbury, Jennifer M. Arseneau of Newton, NH, Vanessa A. Ward of Salisbury, Susan E. Caisse of Somerville, George M. Wamboldt of Somerville, Luis F. Duarte Jr. of Fall River, Amy M. Comeau of Swansea, and Kimberly M. Faria of Waltham.Also survived by 10 grandnieces and grandnephews.
Relatives and friends will honor and remember PJ's life by gathering during visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Monday, June 24 from 4-8 PM, and again on Tuesday morning for her Funeral Service celebrated at 10 AM.Gifts in PJ's honor may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation, 330 Congress St., Boston, MA 02210.
