Persis L. "Per" (Lanier) Chisholm
Mrs. Chisholm was born on February 15, 1921 in Dorchester, one of four children of the late Chester A. Lanier and Wilhelmina S. (Turner) Lanier.
Persis or "Per" as she was lovingly known, was raised in Medford and graduated from Medford High School.For many years, she worked as a clerk for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the Employment Security Department.More recently, Persis was a member of the Milano Senior Center where she enjoyed the knitting group.
An attentive and devoted mother, she loved taking care of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.Mrs. Chisholm was independent throughout much of her life and was a good cook.She also enjoyed watching TV with her family.
She was the beloved wife of the late Carl H. Chisholm.Devoted mother of Lynette L. Chisholm of Las Vegas, NV, Susan E. Webb of Stoneham, and Carl H. Chisholm, Jr. of Northborough.Dear sister of Rev. Veronica "Ronny" Lanier and the late Chester A. Lanier, Jr. and Audrey Lanier.Loving sister-in-law of Mabelle Barnette of Newmarket, NH.Cherished grandmother of Tanysha M. Webb of Marietta, GA and Jason D. Webb and his fiancé Kerry Schack of Melrose.Loving great grandmother of Imani, Janese, Jevonte and Jevon.Also survived by close longtime friend, Barbara Fergus of Randolph and a host of other friends and relatives.
Funeral Service at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St, Melrose on Tuesday, February 15 at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours on Monday from 4-8 PM.Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Gifts in her memory may be made to the Milano Senior Center, 201 W. Foster St. Melrose, MA 02176.
