Phyllis M. Hilton
Phyllis was born in Boston on August 20, 1922 and raised in Melrose by her grandparents the late Clayton W. Hatch and Lydia M. (Nickerson) Hatch.
Phyllis was a strong, creative person who was always active. She owned and operated Kopper & Kettle Antiques with stores in Melrose and Wakefield for over 30 years. She volunteered at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, loved line dancing, and was an excellent writer. Gifted with a creative mind, Phyllis was always reading, and writing. She wrote personal memoirs of her life for publication in the Melrose Free Press, and her long birthday cards, and get well cards were well known.She was also an active longtime member of the First Baptist Church.
She was beloved wife of the late Clyde B. Hilton, Ret. Melrose Police Officer. Thedevoted mother ofJames B. Hilton and his wife Roberta of Queechee, VT,Clyde L. Hilton and his wife Lynne of Seabrook, NH, Scott F. Hilton of Boston and the late Richard E. Hilton and his survivng wife Christine of ME.Cherished grandmother of Craig Hilton of Brunswick, ME, Bradford Hilton of San Diego, CA, Natalie Hilton of Seabrook, NH, and Abagail Hilton of Manchester, NH.
Relatives and friends will gather in honor and remembrance of Phyllis for her Funeral Service at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Saturday February 7 at 11:00AM.
