Phyllis A. (Bartlett) Poole, 80 of Melrose died at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital Tuesday evening June 14, 2005. Mrs. Poole was born February 5, 1925 in Asbury Park, NJ, daughter of the late George R. and Henrietta (Megill) Bartlett. Mrs. Poole was a resident of Melrose for the past 55 years.She and her late husband, George, had shared 56 years of marriage.She had also worked as a secretary at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for 25 years. She was a 50 year member of the First United Methodist Church of Melrose.
Mrs. Poole is the mother of Karen E. Surette of Melrose, Penelope J. Lamprey of Kingston, NH, Deborah L. Colantuoni of Deerfield, FL and the late Gary L. Poole.She is the sister of Esther Deibert of NJ.She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Gregory and Jennifer Cheever, Stephanie Knittle, Eric Poole and Nicole Surette; 3 great-grandchildren, Hailey and Connor Knittle and Gabriel Schulman.
Funeral service in the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., MELROSE Saturday, June 18 at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 p.m. Gifts in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or to Hallmark Health Hospice, Development Office, 100 Hospital Road, Malden, MA 01248.
