Mr. Reinhardt 'Ron' Becker, of Stoneham, formerly of Melrose, died Sunday evening, April 6, 2008 in his home. He was 72 years old.
Reinhardt was born in Stoneham on January 13, 1936, a son of the late Edmund J. and Margaretha C. (Hofman) Becker and lived most of his life in Melrose. He attended Northeastern University Lincoln School of Engineering.
He leaves his children, Danielle E. Bertrand of Lewiston, Maine & her husband, Robert F. Bertrand, Karl F. Becker of Swampscott and Amy Becker of Manhattan, New York; a brother, Karl Becker of Short Hills, New Jersey and a sister, Alma Ryan of N. Easton.He is also survived by his former wife, Elaine P. (Simard) Lombardo of Danversport and many nieces and nephews.
Ron worked in sales in his family's elevator business, B & A Company, in South Boston, which was founded by his grandfather. He was still working at the time of his death.
He was a member of The First Lutheran Church of Boston and enjoyed singing its choir. He was also a member of Local # 4 Elevator Workers Union in Boston. Ron enjoyed singing, ice skating, theater and travel. He especially enjoyed taking his children to experience shows on and off Broadway in New York City.
