He was born in Melrose, September 2, 1953, a son of the late Kenneth R. Ashley, Sr. and Margaret (Breen) Ashley.
Mr. Ashley was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School.He worked as a Shift Supervisor for the A.W. Chesterton Company in Groveland for 29 years.In his younger years, he worked at the Towne Market on Essex Street in Melrose.He enjoyed all sports - the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and especially loved watching the old Boston Bruins.
Rich was the beloved husband of Joanne J. (Cincotta) Ashley with whom he shared 34 years of marriage.Loving father of Nicole, Susan, Elizabeth and James all of Melrose.Devoted brother of Kenneth R. Ashley, Jr. of Lowell, Margaret "Marty" DuBois and her husband Peter, of Reading and the late Francis J. Ashley.Cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.
