Richard T. Garron, Sr.

March 16, 1933 — October 6, 2022

Richard T. Garron, Sr.

Richard T. Garron, Sr., resident of Windham, New Hampshire, and formerly of Malden and Medford, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at his home.  He was 89.

Born in Malden on March 16, 1933, Richard was one of eight children of the late Thomas and Irene (Broussard) Garron.  He grew up in Malden and was an Altar Boy at Sacred Heart Church. Richard enlisted in the Army when he was 17.  He served in the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1954, attaining the rank of Sergeant.  He was extremely proud of his service to his country.

Upon his return to civilian life, Richard met and later married his beloved Patricia DiTillio.  They were wed on June 15, 1957 and shared many wonderful years and memories together.

Richard first went to work at the Atlantic Woodworking Company, AVCO, Searle Medidata and later became a Pipefitter.  He retired from Local #537 after many years.

Richard was a man of few words, but those words carried a lot of weight.  He dearly loved his family and adored his grandchildren.  If you needed anything, you could call him, he would drop whatever he was doing, and come and help you, any time, any day.

Richard enjoyed playing cards with his brothers, bowling, a visit to a casino, watching boxing, westerns and war movies.

Richard’s big heart and love for his family and friends will be missed.

Richard was the beloved husband of Patricia M. (DiTillio) Garron with whom he shared 65 years of marriage. Devoted father of Christine DiLeo and her husband Robert of Windham, NH, Richard T. Garron, Jr. and his wife Lynda of Melrose, Maureen Garron, and Lori A. Vinci and her husband David, both of Windham, NH. Loving brother of Irene Raymond of Sanford, ME, the late Robert Garron, Donald Garron, John Garron, Paul Garron, James Garron, and William Garron.  Cherished grandfather of Elizabeth and Robert DiLeo, Jr., Austin and Spencer Garron, and Jessica, Julia, and Jenna Vinci.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather in honor of Richard’s life during visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Tuesday, Oct. 11 from 9-11am and for his Funeral Service celebrated at 11am.  Interment with US Army honors at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
