Richard A. Glidden

Richard A. Glidden, 70, a Draftsman for 35 years with the General Electric Company in Lynn died Friday evening March 25, 2005 at the Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester after a brief illness. Richard was born in Wakefield April 20, 1934, son of the late Lloyd S. Glidden and Ida E. (Dow) Glidden.He was a life long resident of Wakefield and for many years he was very active in youth sports, coaching little league basketball and soccer. Richard loved crafts, woodworking, gardening and bowling. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Melrose.
Richard was the husband of Beverly (Rankin) Glidden. Father of Brian R. Glidden and his wife Julie of Tewksburyand Peter A. Glidden and his wife Jill of Nashua, NH.He was the brother of Earle Glidden of NH., Clare Thoburn of VA and the late Lloyd S. Glidden.Grandfather of William E.Glidden and Erin R. Glidden both of Tewksbury.Richard is also survived by several nieces and nephews. AMemorial Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 645 Main St., Melrose Wednesday March 30 at 12 Noon. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield. Gifts in his memory may be made to the American Parkinson Association, 720 Harrison Ave., Suite 707, Boston, MA02118.
