Mr. Richard W. "Dick" Hussey, a Melrose resident since 1929, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the Elmhurst Nursing Home in Melrose. He was 85 years old.
Mr. Hussey was born in Everett on September 28, 1923, a son of the late Eugene R. Hussey and Ruth (Cox) Hussey.
Richard Hussey, or "Dick"' as he was known, was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School.He attended Dean Academy and graduated from Tufts University in 1950.For many years, Mr. Hussey worked as a Compliance Officer for Bank of Boston, retiring in 1992.He proudly served his country during WWII in the US Navy and was a longtime and active member of the First Congregational Church.
Dick was the beloved husband of Cynthia J. (Gray) Hussey with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Loving father of Gale Putnam and her husband Dale of Newton, NH, Brian G. Hussey of Portsmouth, NH and Gretchen R. Dazelle of Westfield.Dear brother of the late Barbara H. O'Leary.Cherished grandfather of Gregory, Kimberly, Rebecca, Mallory, Ethan, and Wayde.
