Richard A. "Dickie" Traniello

Richard A. "Dickie" Traniello, a lifelong resident of Somerville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at age 74.

He was born on July 19, 1939 in Malden, one of three children of the late Mario and Blanche (Gooby) Traniello.

Dickie was raised in Somerville and worked for many years in East Boston as a union steel worker.He was a veteran of the US Army.A sports lover, Richard enjoyed playing in the Somerville Softball City League.He was also a member of the Somerville City Club.He was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics and Red Sox.

Richard was the loving brother of Ruth E. Dolaher of Peabody, and the late twin brother of Robert Traniello.Dear uncle of 8 nieces and nephews, 16 grandnieces and grandnephews, and 8 great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.

Relatives and friends will gather in honor of Richard's life for a Graveside Service with US Army military honors at the Woodlawn Cemetery, 302 Elm St., Everett on Friday, November 8 at 2:00 PM.Gifts in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
