Mrs. Rita C. (Cassidy) Skrabut, 80 of Malden died at the Pilgrim Rehabilitation Center in Peabody on Friday afternoon July 15, 2005. Mrs. Skrabut was born in Lynn, MA October 28, 1924, daughter of the late Joseph Cassidy and Justina (Lane) Cassidy. Rita graduated from St. Mary's High School in Lynn and for 30 years was a clerk at the South Boston Postal Annex. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Malden. Rita was the wife of the late Erwin S. "Ski" Skrabutand the late Marino J. Olivolo. She was the mother of Carolyn Vicari and her husband, Michael of Peabody. Sister of the late Joseph Cassidy. Grandmother of Stacey and Keith Vicari, both of Peabody. Step-mother of Joyce Giglio and Stanley Skrabut, both of Carver and the late Donna Catalano. Also survived by 5 step-grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren. Funeral from the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St. Melrose, Tuesday July 19 at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Joseph's Church, Salem St., Malden at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 PM. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden, MA.
