Mr. Robert R. Alwell of Melrose, formerly of Malden and Everett, died early Tuesday morning, May 15, 2007 at the Glen Ridge Nursing Care Center in Medford.
Mr. Alwell was born in Everett, September 6, 1921, son of the late Laurence J. Alwell and Katherine (Walsh) Alwell.
Robert was raised and educated in Everett. He graduated from Everett High School. He graduated from the University of Buffalo with a degree in English and received his Masters in Literature from the University of Massachusetts.Robert taught English and Literature for 30 years in Everett Public Schools. He worked in counter-intelligence, out of the pentagon, during WWII, then later he was an FBI agent for 9 years. During the summer, Robert enjoyed spending time in both Gloucester and Rockport.
