Robert A. Cheever
Mr. Cheever was born at the family home in Wakefield on September 16, 1922, one of three children of the late William B. Cheever and Myra E. (French) Cheever.
Robert Cheever was raised in the Greenwood section of Wakefield and graduated from Wakefield High School.He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.For many years he worked as a lithographer for Fidelity Press in Everett and for several other local press companies.Mr. Cheever was a member of an Aquarium Club, the Saugus Bowling League, and enjoyed his trips to England.
He was the former husband of the late Mignon (Ekman) Cheever Babin with whom he shared 27 years of marriage.Devoted father of Heidi Caswell and her husband Keith of Bedford, NH, Gretchen Cecere and her husband Anthony of E. Boston, and Rebecca Palumbo and her husband Robert of Danvers.Dear brother of Jane Dale and her husband Ernest of Hamilton and the late Alice Cheever.Cherished grandfather of Jenna, Sam, Alexandra, Olivia, Jeffrey, Daniel and the late Kayleigh.Uncle of Sherie Parr of Danvers and Nancy Dale of Billerica.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Cliftondale Congregational Church, 50 Essex St., Saugus on Thursday, September 30 at 11 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.Visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Wednesday from 6-8 PM.Interment with military honors presented by the US Navy will be held in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
