On a bright and sunny October day, Robert Hoijer was fishing. He threw out his line, felt a tug on his arm, and it was his Heavenly Father – it’s time to join your mother and sister. It was Wednesday, October 12, 2022 and Bob was 90.
Robert Hoijer was born in Cambridge on September 14, 1932. He served in the US Army as a Private First Class during the Korean War. He was a longtime, hard-working employee of Harvard University and a resident of Wakefield.
Bob was the father of Christopher Hoijer and his husband Greg Rebello of Concord, NH, Karen Ekholm and her husband Eric of Penacook, NH, Eric Hoijer and his wife Stacey of Lebanon, ME, and Amy Hoijer of Penacook, NH. Also survived by his former wife, Loraine Heath, his grandchildren, and a niece and nephews.
Services will be held privately. Interment with US Army honors at Maple Grove Cemetery, Concord, NH. If you wish, donations in Bob’s memory can be made to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
