Mr. Rand was born on July 6, 1927 in Melrose, a son of the late Ralph Rand and Ruth (Sweet) Rand.
Bob was raised and educated in Melrose.He worked as an engineer for Boston Gas Company for 43 years and as a statistician for the Boston Bruins for 15 years.He proudly served his country during WWII in the US Navy.Bob was an avid golfer, playing for many years at Mount Hood Golf Club.He was also a longtime member of the Melrose Highlands Congregational Church.
Bob was the beloved husband of Constance M. 'Connie' (Leving) Rand with whom he shared 55 years of loving marriage.Devoted father of Robert L. ofFalmouth, ME, Lisa L. Bernardino and her husband Mark of Melrose, David L. of Winthrop, Dean E. of Melrose and Steven G. Rand and his wife Laura of Avon.Brother of the late Betty Medinger.Cherished grandfather of Cory, Jessica, Amanda, Isabella, Britney, Jake, Nicholas and Christopher.
