Robert Crane Schurian, of Melrose, died unexpectedly from complications from a ruptured appendix at Lowell General Hospital on Sunday, December 5, 2021.Born on May 16, 1966, with a rare genetic condition, Robert lovingly known as Bobby, lived surrounded by love and support for 55 years.
Diagnosed at a very young age with Tuberous Sclerosis, Bobby resided at New England Pediatric Care in N. Billerica for the last 47 years. With unparalleled care, he lived with the loving attention and selfless help of his family, nurses, doctors, and aides. Bobby's life was enriched with regular attendance at Till Billerica Day Habilitation Program for many years. He was well known for his love of eating, especially sweets, and enjoyed homemade treats from Mom.
Bobby's medical needs were lifelong and substantial, but those around him are forever grateful for the life lessons of tolerance, unconditional love, and compassion. The Schurian family would like to express their immense gratitude and loving appreciation for the immeasurable care that spanned decades, numerous caregivers, and included countless acts of kindness from so many at New England Pediatric Care.
Bobby was the cherished son of Nancy (Crane) Schurian, and the late Herbert G. Schurian. Beloved brother of Susan B. Dillon and her husband Peter of Topsfield, and Cortland 'Cory' Schurian and his wife Mare of Concord, NC. Dear grandson of the late Walter and Elizabeth 'Betty' Crane, and Bernhard and Alwine Schurian. Nephew of Judy Graves and her husband Paul of Millville, DE, and the late Anna Ruggiera, and Bernhard Schurian. Uncle of Mackenzie Dillon and Michaela Dillon of Topsfield. Cousin of Michael Graves, Lisa Graves Courtines, Anna Ruggiera, and the late Barbara Butler.
