Mr. Steeves was born on January 8, 1931 in Boston, one of three children of the late Austin E Steeves and Esther M Steeves.
Bob was raised in Somerville, graduated from Somerville High School and was a longtime North Reading resident.He was a union carpenter for Local 218 and proudly served in the Unites Sates Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a great gardener and had the ability to grow anything and everything.
Robert was the dear brother of Ralph C. Steeves and his wife Loretta of Wolfeboro, NH and Shirley A. Strauss and her husband John of Lynnfield.Dear uncle of Marianne Russell of Burlington, David Steeves of Everett, Susan Barry of Burlington, Kathrine Sartori and Stephen Strauss both of Lynnfield and the late Therese Hery. Also survived by many grand nieces and grand nephews.
Funeral Service at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., MELROSE, Wednesday June 10 at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 9:30-11 AM.Interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Late member Carpenters Union Local 218 and US Marine veteran of Korean War.
