Rose Carlan

Rose (French) Carlan, 82 of Melrose died Friday June 18, 2004 at the Bear Hill Nursing Center in Wakefield. Mrs. Carlan was born January 21, 1922 in Boston, daughter of the late Frank French and Catherine (Dyer) French. Rose graduated from East Boston High School, class of 1938.She was primarily a homemaker but was also a lunch matron at the Holmes School in Malden and the Council on Aging Meal Site at the Knights of Columbus.
Rose was the former wife of the late James J. Carlan.Mother of James J. Carlan, Jr. and his wife Dianne of Norfolk, VA, Lawrence R. Carlan and his wife Doris of Latrobe, PA, Dennis P. Carlan and his wife Dorene of Melrose and Stephen J. Carlan and his wife, Connie of Stoneham.Sister of the late Catherine Godfrey, Cecelia DelCore, William French and Agnes French.Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral from the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St. Melrose Wednesday June 23 at 8 AM.Funeral Mass at St. Mary'sChurch, (corner of Myrtle & Herbert Street), Melrose at 9 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 PM. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose, MA.
