Mrs. Ruth MacCallum Blanchard, age 95, wife of the late Carl A Blanchard, Jr. passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Brooksby Village in Peabody.
She was a resident of Brooksby Village in Peabody for 6 years and past resident of Topsfield for 30 years, and Needham for 54 years.
Remembering her with love are her three daughters and their husbands: Judy Blanchard Reichel and Lynn of Marshfield, MA; Jan Blanchard Cavanaugh and Tom of Little River, SC; and Cindy Blanchard Russell and Jon of Chappaqua, NY.Five Grandchildren: Kristen Moriarty and her husband Joey; Keather Reichel, Kelley Reichel, Kimberly Russell and David Russell and his wife Katey.Three great grandchildren: Ryan, Patrick and Brendon Moriarty.
Ruth was an active member in the Garden Club at Brooksby Village and enjoyed playing bridge.She began her life in Simsbury, CT and moved to MA in 1921.She graduated from Kathryn Gibbs and worked as a secretary prior to being married in 1941. Throughout her life she enjoyed family, extensive travelling, golf, ballroom dancing, bridge, volunteer work with the Red Cross and many activities at the Needham Congregational Church.She always remembered all of the extended family and was the core of keeping everyone in touch.It is now her time to rest and reunite with all who have gone before her.
