Mrs. Ruth (Lenfest) Hovey, 86 a resident of Melrose for many years, died Friday morning November 11, 2005 at the Aberjona Nursing Home in Winchester. Mrs. Hovey was born in Washington, ME on November 10, 1919, daughter of the late Harry M. Lenfest and Alice M. (Turner) Lenfest. Mrs. Hovey grew up in Washington, ME graduating from Washington High School and the Ballard Business School in Rockport, ME. Ruth was the wife of the late Arthur E. Hovey, Jr.,Roy H. Hawkesand Wilford J.Keenom and the mother of Lora J. Hillis of Camden, ME, Joseph L. Keenom of Melrose, Nancy Keenom-Caron of Merrimack, NH and Linda S. Kay of Woburn. Step-mother of Harry A. Hawkes of Melrose, Gary W. Hawkes of Wakefield, Bruce A. Hawkes of North Reading, Marjorie Sletterink of Reading, Arthur E. Hovey, III of Winter Haven, FL and Daniel D. Hovey of Portsmouth, NH.Ruth was the sister of Warren H. Lenfest of Gardner, ME. Mrs. Hovey is also survived by several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Funeral Service at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., MELROSE Tuesday, November 15 at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.Visiting hours Monday 4-8 PM. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington, MA. Gifts in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St., Boston, MA02210 or to the charity of your choice.
