Ryan Killian O'Connor

Ryan Killian O'Connor, 29, a resident of Braintree, passed away from a broken heart on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, after the loss of his beautiful wife Tara Gildea O'Connor.

The oldest of four children, Ryan was born in Stoneham on March 9, 1989. He was raised on the U.S. Army's Ft. Bragg in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Ryan graduated from Terry Sanford High School in 2007 before attending Appalachian State University where he received a dual degree in Music Industries Studies and Business while playing rugby. With a gift for music, Ryan graduated with honors from the Hayes School of Music, and moved to Boston to begin working in music production.

While living and working in Boston, Ryan was active in the music scene, playing in several bands, performing gigs as a DJ, and working in radio for the Boston Globe. Most recently, he served as Production Manager at City Winery of Boston. Passionate, engaging and full of life, Ryan enjoyed talking about a wide range of topics including his favorite music, books, Greek or Roman mythology, Irish history, or the wonder of nature. Like those of lore, Ryan suffered a tragic flawan excess of romanticism. With unquenchable curiosity, Ryan was always seeking out new opportunities to learn and experience new things to share with the world.

Ryan found the love of his life in Tara Gildea O'Connor and they matched perfectly. Together, they welcomed a daughter, Mackenzie Rose, into their lives with infinite love and laughter.

Fiercely proud of his Irish ancestry, like his grandfather, when triumphant on the rugby pitch he would exclaim descent from "Irish Warrior Kings." Ryan was intensely loyal to his family and served as a constant protector to his younger siblings. Family and friends will forever treasure his warm and engaging smile and bright lively blue eyes that magically endeared him to so many. Ryan leaves the world far too young, but his kind nature and gentle soul will forever be remembered. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anamacha(May they rest in peace)

Ryan was the beloved husband of the late Tara Gildea (Wadsworth) O'Connor. Devoted father of Mackenzie Rose. Cherished son of Margaret E. (Garvey) O'Connor and Sergeant Major Brendan W. O'Connor, US Army Special Forces of Lancaster, PA. Cherished grandson of Richard J. Garvey of OR, and the late Patricia L. Garvey, the late Lt. Colonel Mortimer L. O'Connor, and the late Elizabeth W. O'Connor. Treasured brother of Dr. Colin G. O'Connor and his fiancé Quinn Fryzel of Braintree, Darby E. O'Connor of Lancaster, PA and Dillon W. O'Connor of Lancaster, PA. Loving son-in-law of Catherine Gildea and her husband Michael Stacy of Braintree. Caring brother-in-law of Johnny Wadsworth of Lewisberg, WV, and Mary Wadsworth of San Diego, CA. Also survived many loving aunts, uncles & cousins.
