Mr. Salvatore T. Nolfi of Melrose died Saturday, September 4,2004 in Epoch Senior Health Care of Melrose after a brief illness.
Sal was born and educated in Dedham, Massachusetts. Son of the late Salvatore and Giacinta (Urrasio) Nolfi. He was a long time resident of Melrose.
Sal worked at Sylvania as a supervisor of the Vacuum Tube Department for several years until his retirement. After retiring Sal worked at the former Hills Store in down town Melrose.
He joined the United States Army during WW II and served in Germany and took part in the Battle of the Bulge.
Sal was a long time communicant of St. Mary's Church where he attended Mass daily. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
Husband of the late Margaret (Stanley) Nolfi.Step-father of Gordon E. Cheeseman, Sr. of Unity, ME and James Cheeseman of Salem, NH.Also survived by 9 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.Uncle of Marie Gaetani of Norwood. Brother of the late Ralph, Philip "Count", Dominic and Edmund Nolfi and Bessie Dimasio.
Funeral from the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose, Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at 8:00 AM.Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, (Corner of Myrtle & Herbert Streets) Melrose at 9:00 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours Tuesday 5-8 PM.
Interment in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
