Sandra (Perkins) Hamilton age 84 long time resident of Melrose, passed away on September 16, 2020 peacefully in her home.

Born on August 20, 1936, in Melrose, Sandy was the daughter of the late Leonard Perkins and Margaret (Latty) Perkins Taylor. Raised in Melrose Sandy graduated from Melrose High School in 1955. Her Family and faith were the center of her life. She raised her 5 children in the Melrose Community that she was so fond of.

Sandy was a devoted Nurse at the Boston Regional Medical Center and Melrose Wakefield Hospital for over 30 years. She will be remembered for her love of family, travel and mission work to La Romana Dominican Republic both as a Nurse and compassionate woman of faith. Her trips were to help build a hospital and give care to those less fortunate. She was a decade's long member of the First Baptist Church where she volunteered and supported the Food Pantry for many years. She enjoyed her trips to Loon Mountain and travel with her life-long friends.

In addition to her parents, Sandy is predeceased by her sister Diane Kiefer of Ohio and leaves her sister Gayle Blanchette of Wakefield. Sandy is survived by her 5 children, Brenda Morano of Saugus, Matthew Hamilton and Sue (Conn) of Reading and Tewksbury, Dawn Hamilton of Hampstead NH, Todd and Michele Hamilton of Santa Rosa Beach, FL and Diane and Paul Ardizzoni of Melrose. Sandy was the devoted grandmother (Nana) to Todd Collins and Joe Morano, Andrew Hamilton and wife Sigourney, Megan and Alex Hamilton, Daniel Face and wife Amanda, Lyndsay O'Leary and husband PJ, Zachary, Matthew and Sam Hamilton and Paul and Rachel Ardizzoni. She was so proud of her great grandchildren Bronwynn O'Leary and Chase Hamilton. She is survived by a family of close, loving friends Beverly Schluntz, Marilyn Bonyton and the late Jesse Freda who will feel her loss terribly.

Friends and Family will gather in honor and remembrance of Sandy's life on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at 11:00am at the First Baptist Church, 561 Main Street, Melrose, MA 02176. Masks are required and social distancing will be maintained.

Contributions in Sandy's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN., 38105.
