Thomas A. Zulon, Jr., of Melrose and formerly of Brighton, passed away unexpectedly on December 31, 2024 at Brigham and Women's Hospital. He was 61.
Born on February 10, 1963, in Boston, he was one of three children of the late Thomas A. and Barbara A. (Hughes) Zulon. Tom was raised in Brighton and was a vibrant spirit who brightened the lives of everyone he met. He built a successful career as a Master Electrician, proudly owning his own business for many years. Tom was dedicated to his craft. He most recently was working at Bose in Framingham.
Beyond his professional achievements, Tom was a man of great passion. A lover of life, he dedicated many summers to the joys of Hamilton Beach in Wareham, where he embraced the water with family, boating, jet-skiing & fishing. Tom had a great love for hockey and the Boston Bruins. He brought laughter and joy with his goofy sense of humor.
Tom's devotion to his family was unparalleled. Married to his beloved wife, Liliana, on March 31, 2004, and again in Mexico on September 30 of the same year, they shared a deep bond. As a father, he was at every event, cheering wildly for his girls and teaching them the importance of teamwork, determination, and kindness. His influence as a caring dad will forever resonate with them.
Tom was also an accomplished martial artist, achieving a black belt in JuJitsu through New England Small Circle JuJitsu, showcasing his discipline and commitment to lifelong learning.
Tom's memory will live on in those who knew and loved him, and he will be deeply missed.
Tom was the beloved Husband of Liliana (Benavidesz) Zulon with whom he shared 20 years of marriage. Devoted father of Jessica and Jacqueline Zulon. Loving brother of Paula Hughes Martin and her (deceased) husband Walter (Chuck) of Groton and Kathy Glennon and her husband Tom of South Walpole. Cherished uncle of Kelly Martin (and her husband, Arthur LeBlanc and their son, Dylan), Kaitlyn Martin, Thomas Glennon, Jr. (and his wife, Alexandra), Christopher Glennon, and Matthew Glennon.
Relatives & friends are invited to gather in honor Thursday, Jan. 9 from 4-7pm, and again on Friday for his Funeral Service celebrated at 10am.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in Tom's memory may be made to the Melrose High School Girls Hockey Team, c/o Melrose High School, 360 Lynn Fells Parkway, Melrose, MA 02176.
