Vera (King) Blackmore
Vera was born on May 27, 1918 in Newfoundland, Canada, a daughter of the late Ambrose King and Virtue King.She enjoyed knitting and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Melrose.
Vera was the beloved wife of the late Hubert S. Blackmore. Loving mother of Stephen H. Blackmore and his partner, Deborah St. Germain, of Lawrence and Shoshonah Woolf and her partner, Marilyn Cooper of Arvada, Colorado. Grandmother to Brandon and Ashley Miller of Colorado and Julie Blackmore of CT.Also survived by her sister-in-law, Claire Blackmore of Everett and close family friend, Jim Jones of Melrose.
Funeral services will be private. Interment will be in Wyoming Cemetery. Memorials in Vera's name may be made to M.S.P.C.A, 350 S. Huntington Ave., Jamaica Plain, MA 02130 or to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham 01701 or to the First United Methodist Church, 645 Main St., Melrose 02176.
