Mrs. Vera (King) Blackmore, a resident of Melrose, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at her home.She was 91 years old.
Vera was born on May 27, 1918 in Newfoundland, Canada, a daughter of the late Ambrose King and Virtue King.She enjoyed knitting and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Melrose.
Vera was the beloved wife of the late Hubert S. Blackmore. Loving mother of Stephen H. Blackmore and his partner, Deborah St. Germain, of Lawrence and Shoshonah Woolf and her partner, Marilyn Cooper of Arvada, Colorado. Grandmother to Brandon and Ashley Miller of Colorado and Julie Blackmore of CT.Also survived by her sister-in-law, Claire Blackmore of Everett and close family friend, Jim Jones of Melrose.
Funeral services will be private. Interment will be in Wyoming Cemetery. Memorials in Vera's name may be made to M.S.P.C.A, 350 S.
