Mrs. McGlone was born on March 18, 1914 in Lynn, daughter of the late Perley H. Putnam and Bessie A. (Clement) Putnam.
Virginia or "Ginny" as she was affectionately known was raised in Melrose where she graduated from Melrose High School.She attended Chandler Secretarial School and worked as a secretary for MacIntosh Real Estate and for J.E.O.L. in Medford.
Ginny was the devoted mother of Robert E. McGlone and his wife Alice of Myrtle Beach, SC, David P. McGlone and his wife Patricia of Groveland, and Joyce A. Dolaher and her husband Joe of Wilbraham.She was the mother in law of the late Peggy McGlone.Cherished grandmother of Scott & Julie McGlone, Kevin & Debra McGlone, Carrie & Brian Nelson, Sarah McGlone, Sean McGlone, Michael & Emilie Dolaher, Brian & Stephanie Dolaher, Melissa & Scott Park, Eric & Sharon Dolaher, and Katie Dolaher.Loving great grandmother of Tommy, JJ, Adam, Connor, Kaylee, Ryan, Lindsey, Jacqueline, Andrew, Jimmy, Meghan, Leah and Kyle.
Funeral Service in Ginny's honor at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Friday, January 7 at 11 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.Visitation on Friday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM.Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.Gifts in her memory may be made to Why Me, 1152 Pleasant St. Worcester, MA 01602.
