Mr. Walter R. Pollock of Melrose, died Monday morning, December 18 2006, at the Melrose Care Nursing Center in Melrose. He was 82 years old. He was born in Boston, son of the late John Pollock and Dorothy (Green) Pollock.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Irene L. (Lutes) Pollock; two children, John W. Pollock & his wife, Lois, of Belmont and Sharon G. Yates of Andover; a sister, Dorothy Pasalacqua and her husband, Larry Pasalacqua of South Easton; six grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Pollock attended schools in Arlington and Somerville and acquired his certification as a master electrician through Coyne Electric. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II having served on the U.S. New Orleans for 3 and a half years in the South Pacific.
He worked for many years as a Master Electrician for the Melville Corporation and worked in the Distribution Center for the former Marshall's, now TJX Corporation. He retired in 1994. Previously, he had worked at Revere Sugar Refinery Company in Revere.
Mr. Pollock enjoyed a great sense of humor and cherished his many friendships but above all he loved his family and especially his grandchildren.
