72, a 40 year resident of Melrose died after a brief illness at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, Saturday morning October 2, 2004. Bill was born in Boston, November 1, 1931, son of the late William D. Copeland and Elizabeth A. (Bingham) Copeland.
Bill grew up in Boston, graduated from Boston English High School, 1949 and Boston University, 1954.He was a Printing Sales Representative for over 50 years and he was a long time member of the Melrose Highlands Congregational Church. Bill and his wife, Priscilla (Murch) Copeland recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.He was the father of Reverend Judy Copeland and her husband Reverend Christopher Emerson of Manchester, NH., Joyce C. Haskins and her husbandWilliam of Bethlehem, PA,Joanne C. Rodgers and her husbandDavid of Montclair, NJand David W. Copeland of Pittsburgh, PA.Bill was the brother of Jean Taber of West Barnstable. Grandfather of Abigail C. Emerson, Nathaniel G. Emerson, John W. Haskins, BenjaminD. Haskins, JanieE. Haskins, Mei-Mei Haskins, Sara S. Rodgers, Emily C. Rodgers and Catherine C. Rodgers. A Funeral Service will be conducted by Reverend Wendy Vander Hart and Reverend Christopher Emerson (Bill's son-in-law) at the Melrose Highlands Congregational Church, 355 Franklin St.,Melrose Tuesday October 5, 2004 at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be held in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Gifts in his memory may be made to the Geneva Point Center, HC 62, Box 469,Centre Harbor, NH03226.
