William E. "Pure Bill" Gallugi, 93
of Malden, formerly of Wakefield, died Wednesday evening, March 30, 2005 at the Epoch Senior Health Care Center in Melrose. Bill was born in Wakefield, May 14, 1911, son of the late Raphael and Asunta (DeVito) Gallugi.
Mr. Gallugi was a World War II Army Veteran and was a chef for 15 years at Walsh's Diner in Wakefield.While residing for 48 years in Port Charlotte, FL he was a Chef at Martin's Restaurant and the Port Charlotte, FL.,Elks Club.
William was the father ofLaura B. Barretto of Melrose and the brother of the late Raymond Gallugi, Alice Courage and Agnes Drinkwater.Grandfather of Julieanne Barbuto and her husband Michael of Malden and WilliamBarretto and his fianc?e Bridget Davis of Melrose.Bill is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A private Funeral Service will be held at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., MELROSE Monday April 4 at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours Sunday 2-5 pm.Interment will be in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden, MA. Gifts in his memory may be made to St. Anthony's Shrine, 100 Arch St., Boston, MA 02110 or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, P.O.Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101 or to Shriner'sHospital for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
