Mr. William H. Ring, a longtime resident of Melrose, passed away peacefully at Lawrence-Memorial Hospital in Medford, on Sunday, April 14, 2013, at the age of 54.
He was born on May 8, 1958 in Melrose, son of the late Howard E. and June E. (Boston) Ring.William or "Bill" as he was lovingly known, was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School.He worked for many years at Cardinal Health in Peabody as a warehouse worker.
Bill enjoyed boating, music, playing the guitar, and sports.He was an avid Boston sports fan, and always had the volume of his radio turned up.His main passion in life was boating on Lake Winnepesauke in New Hampshire.He kept his 23 ft. speedboat at Parker Marine in Alton Bay and spent many summer or even winter nights on his boat.Billy was happiest while cruising the lake where he always felt free.His love for the water and boating led him to develop many lifelong friends at the marina who became his second family.
Billy was the beloved brother of Diana M. "Deedee" Ring of Melrose.He is also survived by many loving cousins, his "second family" at the Parker Marine in Alton Bay, NH, and lifelong family friends, the Ledouxs.
Relatives and friends will honor and remember Bill's life by gathering during visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Friday, April 19 from 4-8PM, and again on Saturday morning where his Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10:00 AM.
