Mrs. Thompson was born May 1, 1909 in Greensboro, NC, daughter of the late James H. Shaw and Lillie (White) Shaw.
Mrs. Thompson was raised in Greensboro, NC.She attended Salem Academy in Salem, NC and Stuart Hall in Richmond, VA.She volunteered as a driver for the American Red Cross at the Bedford VA Hospital. She was a member and past president of the Women's Republican Club of Melrose, the Melrose Women's Club, the DAR, Theta and the Florence Crittenton League.
Wilnawas the wife of the late Archer F. Thompson.Mother of James F. Thompson of Melrose.Aunt of Robert Shaw of Fairport, NY and the late Alan Shaw.Great-aunt of Ann Riordan and Margaret McIntosh, both of Chicago, IL.
