Yolanda G. Lorke, age 89, of Stoneham passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward Lorke and Sophie (Mueller) Lorke, as well as by her older brother, Idus Lorke.

Yolanda was born in Bremen, Germany and came to the United States in 1949 with her parents, at first settling in Portland, Maine, and later moving to Boston, Massachusetts.Yolanda was employed for many years in secretarial and bookkeeping positions. Retiring from Massachusetts Electric Company in 1990, she then worked for Bank of America part-time until the age of 86.

She enjoyed traveling with her friends and family in both Europe and the United States. She will be remembered fondly for her kind heart and contagious laugh.The time spent with her family and friends always brought a smile to her face.Yolanda enjoyed her days when "the girls" got together and played cards.

Her caring personality and devotion to her family and friends was evident by the special things she did, remembering everyone's birthday, leaving little tokens of appreciation and all the photos she proudly displayed in her home.

She was predeceased by her parents, Edward Lorke and Sophie (Mueller) Lorke, as well as by her older brother, Idus Lorke. Yolanda is survived by her family in Stuttgart, Germany including her sister-law, Lieselotte Lorke, her nephew, Hans-Erich Lorke and his children, Pia-Marie Lorke, Anja-Kristin Lorke, and Nicolai Alexander Lorke; her niece, Barbara Lorke-Rossiger and her children Katharina McMeans, Swantje Rssiger, and Sren Rssiger.

She is also survived by her dearest friends that she lovingly referred to as her "Marlboro Family," Margit Zisler, Korina & Michael Peltak, their children Rhiana McElman & her husband Tyler, and Natasha Peltak. Also by Monique & Daniel McCabe, their children Alayna McCabe and her fiancé Timothy Murphy, and Juliana McCabe.

Services were private. Expressions of sympathy in Yolanda's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
