Yvonne "Bonnie" Carter

Yvonne "Bonnie" (Sanders) Carter, a resident of Wakefield, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 17th 2025 at Winchester Hospital, at the age of 69.

Yvonne was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 18, 1955, one of two children of the late John and Selena Sanders. Yvonne was raised in Detroit where she graduated from Mumford High. At the age of 17, Yvonne met her soul mate Alvin Carter Jr. and were married two years later. During their marriage together they had three children: Francine Carter-Sullivan, Yolanda (Carter) Douglass, and Alvin Carter III.

Yvonne and Alvin moved to Massachusetts with their children where they continued to raise the family while Yvonne also worked in the Human Services field. Yvonne enjoyed spending time with her children, traveling, gardening and playing Bingo. Yvonne also enjoyed going to church and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Saugus, MA.

Yvonne was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. Her presence and love will be missed.

Yvonne is proceeded in death by her parents the late John and Selena Sanders, and her late brother Jerome Sanders.

Yvonne leaves behind Alvin Carter Jr. of Melrose, MA, her daughters Francine Carter-Sullivan of Dover, NH, Yolanda Douglass and her husband James of Deerfield, NH, and her son Alvin Carter III of Rockport, MA. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Terrance Carter, Renita Carter, Marcus Sullivan, Matthew Sullivan, Jasmyn Douglass, James Douglass Jr, Jade Douglass, Alvin Carter IV, Annalise Carter, Daniel Carter and Alyssa Carter, and her great grandchildren, Macy Carter and Lincoln Carter. Yvonne also leaves behind several cousins, and nephews.

The family will have a celebration of life for Yvonne at a later date.
